About me

Finding the right counsellor to suit your needs can be difficult, therefore I offer a free initial consultation to help identify your issues, and for you to learn a little about the way we can work together. I am a Masters Degree educated counsellor and psychotherapist with nearly 28 years professional experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist, supervisor and trainer. I have 24 years experience of providing counselling and psychotherapy, short term (6 sessions) and longer term in GP practices in Bath, Wiltshire and Somerset, and in private practice.

I believe that no single counselling or therapy approach suits the needs of a broad spectrum of people or presenting problems and therefore, work integratively using a number of counselling approaches including psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Humanistic Counselling, and Transactional Analysis.

I offer a free no obligation initial 30 minute consultation to explore your issues and to allow you to decide whether I am the right thaerapist for you.

I work in Rode (Nr Frome).

I am a reistered member of BACP and work to their code of ethics and practice.

I have experience working with issues including:

Depression, Anxiety and Panic, Stress, OCD, Trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Addictions, Grief and Loss, Relationship Problems, Domestic Violence, Anger Management, Eating Disorders, Bi-polar Disorder, Bullying, Child Abuse (physical, emotional, sexual and neglect), Low Self-confidence, Low Self-esteem, Termination/Miscarraige, Sexuality, Work Related Issues.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
