About me

Talking Therapy is an opportunity for you to meet me in a safe, confidential setting and explore areas of your life you would like help with. I believe that you have the abilities, experiences and insights to improve your own life, so my role as counsellor is to help you discover areas for the change you would like to make.

Whilst counselling can’t necessarily take away issues that bother you, it can help you cope with events, and the experiences and feelings it brings up in you. Clients have told me how at ease and safe they feel with me and that they can be themselves; sometimes talking about issues, feelings and experiences they haven’t felt able to share with another person. I work in a genuine, empathic and non-judgemental way to help you talk about things that you may never have discussed with anyone before.

For me, it is important to experience the mind, body and spirit nature of your own feelings – past and present - so as to work with you and make changes together.

Clients have seen me for counselling, psychotherapy, or for life coaching to help with their studies and career path.

I have regular supervision as part of an ethical code of working.

I offered counselling at The Albany Trust and was previously at The Wimbledon Guild. My previous working experience includes Terrence Higgins Trust, GMI Partnership, Metro Centre Vauxhall and Greenwich University. Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
