Many people reach times in their lives when, faced with difficulties, look outwards in search of answers rather than within which I may support you with. Those difficulties may arise in many different forms; unhappiness in a relationship, problems at work, loss of a loved one or perhaps a more general sense of dissatisfaction.
I offer 1-1 counselling sessions, short term or long term to help assist with people suffering with depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties and isolation.
I can help provide a safe, confidential space in which to explore what is going on and what possible new directions to take.
For while you can't change the past, the experience of talking in confidence about how you are feeling and of being listened to without judgment and in an empathetic manner, can definitely change the way your past affects you and it does not need to define you and how you respond to it. Through the process of talking through your difficulties it has the capacity to enable you to help with whatever you might be struggling with at the moment: whether that's a personal matter, a relationship issue or a problem at work.
I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor with several years experience. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I adhere to their ethical framework at all times.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I have worked with a diverse mixture of client's needs and challenges and have several years experience as a counsellor.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

It can be a daunting process looking for a counsellor and it is important that you find someone you feel comfortable working with. It shows courage to begin the process of looking for a counsellor. I aim to be flexible, tailoring myself to your individual needs and also to help you decide whether coming for counselling with myself will be the right choice for you.
During the first session we will discuss what brings you to counselling at the current time, and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
