About me
Throughout life, emotional experiences can change how we feel about ourselves, those close to us, and the world around us. We may feel like there is no way forward, or that the people we love do not understand us, or that we are a burden to them, resulting in feelings of emptiness, anxiety, depression or low self-esteem
For example, we may be caught in repeating patterns with ourselves and in our relationships, in ways we feel we have no control over, despite knowing the destructive impact of our actions. At the same time, we can also resist change, even if we know that change is what we seek and it would be good for us.
To bring about change, the experiences across our lives need to be thought about and worked through emotionally. I believe that each person is unique in the way that they experience life with its dilemmas, conflicts, traumas, desires, dreams, hopes and aspirations. This is the approach to the treatment I offer, which is Jungian/Psychodynamic, warm and relational. In practice, it involves us working together on a once or twice weekly basis.
This takes place in a safe and confidential space to help you understand the deeper processes at work which cause you difficulties in your life. These developed understandings, help provide purpose and meaning in finding a way forward. Understanding your own ‘internal self’ more deeply makes it possible to tackle these problems, manage symptoms, face obstacles and bring forth change in ways that would not otherwise feel possible.
I offer once to twice weekly sessions for short term or open-ended work, in person or online.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a member of the Society of Analytical Psychology where I trained as a twice-weekly Psychodynamic Psychotherapist.
I also have extensive experience working in the NHS and with autistic people.
My Professional Registrations are with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC), the Society of Analytical Psychology (SAP) and the International Association of Analytical Psychology (IAAP) and I adhere to their code of practice and ethics.
I hold valid professional indemnity insurance.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.
BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
