About me

PLEASE NOTE: I AM UNABLE TO TAKE ANY NEW REFERRALS UNTIL APRIL 2024.

(NB: I have two creative therapy spaces available  at reasonable costs for practitioners. See further information below and feel free to get in touch with any questions).

Children and young people have worries, anxieties and fears for many reasons, with there having been a significant increase since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as many other reasons including bereavement, loss, parental separation, school issues, relationship difficulties, sibling illness, early childhood trauma, adoption, living in care, sexuality, and many more. Having the opportunity to explore these issues in a therapeutic space can help them heal from hurt and have renewed hope for their future.

I offer direct therapeutic work with children/young people using creative therapeutic approaches and/or talking counselling. I also offer discussion sessions to parents/carers to focus on issues arising with their children, looking at strategies and ways to improve family relationships together. Sessions can be individual or joint.

I am a trained Children and Young Person's Therapist (Counsellor) and have therapy rooms in the Kirk Sandall area of Doncaster. The therapy rooms are a healing space for children, young people and their families living in Doncaster and surrounding areas.

Please contact me either by email or phone, and I will be happy to answer any questions or queries you may have.

Clinical Supervision/Professional Development/Mentoring: I am a BAPT approved supervisor and can offer sessions to professionals working with children to help them reflect on their practice and explore the work they are engaged in. I also have two therapy/counselling rooms to rent - please contact for details.

Additional information

The first consultation session is always free. This gives us both the opportunity to decide whether the service being offered is most suited to you and your child.

Sessions are generally £40.00 per hour. However, I'd like you to feel able to discuss any particular issues this may have for you, so please email or phone to discuss further.

At our first consultation we make decisions about the frequency of sessions, and I ensure that we build in reviews throughout so that we end the intervention appropriately.

Further information

To give you an idea of my experience and the type of work I've been involved in, here's a brief overview:

Over the years I have worked as a children and young people's therapist in children’s centres, a charity for sexually abused children, a fostering agency and a leading national children’s charity.
I've been involved in private practice offering therapy services since 2000, and more recently have facilitated therapy groups in schools.

In addition to therapy and direct work with families, I facilitate training to schools and to other professionals engaged in child related work. I also facilitate groups about attachment and therapeutic parenting to foster carers, and parenting programmes for parents and carers.

I’ve offered Clinical Supervision for many years for play therapists, trainee play therapists, and with counsellors who work with children and young people.

Please feel free to get in touch by email or phone if there's anything you'd like to discuss further.
