About me

I am a fully qualified, experienced counsellor and psychotherapist working within the Halifax area and online, providing both short term and long term therapy for a range of issues.

I am here to help you work through your difficulties within a warm and understanding environment.

I work integratively which means I am trained in a range of theories and approaches which I can draw on to provide support which is meaningful and helpful to you as an individual. However, more important than the theories, is the development of the bond between the two of us within the safe space of the therapy room. I will work with you to help you make sense of your issues and to find your own answers.

I maintain my professional development and have additional training in areas such as Borderline Personality Disorder; Trauma/PTSD; Dissociative Disorder; Creative Therapy for Adults and Children; Family Constellation work; Online therapy; Loss and Bereavement.

My therapy practice offers clients a safe and confidential space to work face-to-face, or online in certain cases.

  • Abuse, including domestic, emotional, physical and sexual abuse
  • Addiction
  • Anger
  • Anxiety and Phobias
  • Bereavement and Loss

  • Infertility
  • Low self esteem/self worth

Further information

My former career was in the police service where I have worked and trained extensively with victims of serious crime as well as several voluntary roles including specialised support in murder and manslaughter, with child victims and also mediation and conflict within the workplace. Safeguarding, confidentiality and dealing with trauma, abuse, loss and other highly sensitive issues have threaded through my work over the past 28 years. I trained and qualified as a counsellor as a natural progression both with my self development and to help make a difference to others.
