About me

There are times in your life when your experiences, thoughts and emotions may threaten to overwhelm you. Sometimes you may know why you are feeling the way that you are and sometimes not. You may begin to feel stuck, lose a sense of direction or feel that life has no meaning, leading to anxiety and depression and consequently to a place of unbearable feelings such as self-hatred, anger, confusion, helplessness and worthlessness. Counselling can offer a space where you can explore without judgement and criticism.

I'm a qualified counsellor working in the Stockport area. I am trained to work using an integrative approach using cognitive behavioural therapy, transactional analysis and person-centred therapy. However I recognise that every person is an individual with different experiences, therefore the counselling approach can be adapted to meet each individual needs. I continuously ensure to provide a safe, trusting and confidential space whilst working ethically in a secure and non-judgemental environment. The aim of my therapeutic work with clients is to support them to explore, reconnect, strengthen and heal themselves at their own pace, in a safe and trusting environment.

I have regular supervision and  I am a registered counsellor  with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I'm fully insured and adhere to their code of ethics and guidelines.

I have previous experience of group therapy with  The Richmond Fellowship and Stockport Mind. I was a volunteer counsellor  for 2 years at Lifeline Stockport, who provide a community based service for individuals struggling with alcoholism and addiction. I'm currently a volunteer counsellor at Beechwood Cancer centre counselling carers and bereaved carers. I currently assist the counselling lecturers  at Stockport College; facilitating skills sessions with students for the Level 2 and 3 counselling courses.

I have a variety of experience in areas such as:

  • Loss/grief/bereavement
