About me

Hello! I am Amo. I am a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and a Counsellor. CBT is an evidenced based psychotherapeutic model, that aims to empower people to overcome their mental health challenges and reach their goals.

In your session, we would focus on understanding your problem and identifying the most effective tools and strategies to help you manage the problem. I will provide a safe, warm, and non-judgemental environment for us to work together and explore your mental health related challenges. During each session, we will discuss effective and bespoke tools and strategies that you could apply to over these challenges.

CBT has been proved to be a very effective therapeutic modality to help people manage and overcome struggles they face due to depression and anxiety. I have experience working with people who have experienced depression and all types of anxieties.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been a CBT therapist for nearly 5 years. I trained as a CBT therapist and engaged in several volunteering roles in this capacity, throughout my training.

Following my qualification, I initially worked at one of Cardiff's leading mental health charities, as an in-house, therapist. I provided psychoeducational workshops and group support to individuals in the community. I worked predominantly with the BAME community.

I am currently working at a corporate mental health provider in a similar capacity and role as that of  NHS primary care CBT therapist.  I currently support corporate employees, managers,  veterans, senior citizens and people who have been diagnosed with terminal or long term medical conditions.

I have experience working with different types of anxieties- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), social anxiety, panic, phobia, health anxiety and generalized anxiety. Additionally, I work with dingle and recurrent episodes of depression as well.
