About me

I am currently offering counselling via Zoom or by phone only.

I aim to offer a safe space for you to explore anything that is creating concern for you. Struggling with something difficult in life can often be the starting point for new learning and new ways forward.
I work with intuition, compassion and optimism, using your experiences and whatever you find most meaningful to light the way. I start from the beliefs that you are unique, and have had a life experience different from anyone else and that there is no one right way to be, we are all capable of choosing the best answers for ourselves. I don't see this as a clinical exercise, more of a genuine human encounter, where your experiences and way of looking at the world are central to finding the best ways forward for you. I will help you work closely with your emotions, beliefs and ideas, using these to guide our work together. Sometimes we will look at where you have come from, sometimes where you want to get to, often at where you are right now.

I work from my home in Lenzie, and in the Glasgow Kelvingrove area, depending on which is more convenient, and can offer daytime, evening and sometimes Saturday am appointments. Please see my website or contact me for more information.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I have a particular interest in difficult childhood experiences, existential issues and relationships.

I trained as Daring WayTM facilitator in 2014, and can offer a deep understanding of experiences of shame, connection, authenticity and vulnerability; see my website for more information.
