Amber Pipsky MBACP
40A Kelvingrove Street
I aim to offer a safe space for you to explore where you are with things. Our struggles are often a wake up call, an opportunity to notice, reassess, explore what we want, a time to learn, become and grow, not always easy, but worth the effort.
I work with intuition, compassion and optimism, using your experiences and whatever you find most meaningful and important to light the way. You are unique, and have had a life experience different from anyone else. I have huge respect for all that you have done to get this far, and think that there is no one right way to be, we are all free to choose the best answers for ourselves. I don't see this as a clinical exercise, more of a genuine human encounter, at its best a meeting of equals, where your experiences and way of looking at things are central to finding the best ways forward for you. I will work closely with your emotions, thoughts and beliefs, using these to guide our work together. Sometimes we will look at where you have come from, sometimes where you want to get to, often at where you are right now.
I work from my home in Lenzie, and in the Glasgow Kelvingrove area, depending on which is more convenient, and can offer daytime, evening and sometimes Saturday am appointments. Please see my website or contact me for more information.

Other areas of counselling I deal with
I have a particular interest in the areas of developmental trauma, that is difficult childhood experiences, particularly emotional neglect in childhood, complex trauma, existential and relational work.
I trained as Daring WayTM facilitator in 2014, and can offer a deep understanding of experiences of shame, connection, authenticity and vulnerability; see my website for more information.
I offer a 30 minute initial session by phone at no cost.
After that it's £45 for each session, lasting one hour, with some time spent at the end considering future arrangements. This rate applies to individuals and couples.
Payment is by cash or cheque, I have no facilities for handling card payments.
Some reduced fees are possible if you have a low income. These are limited, so please mention this when you contact me so that I can be clear if I can offer a place at this time. Reduction is offered on a sliding scale (£20-£40), according to what you can afford. I will generally only be able to offer reduced rates for daytime appointments (11-3)
I can work by Skype or FaceTime if you have access to a stong internet connection.

Supervision & training
I see supervision as a vital and dynamic process, essential to providing both the respectful holding of clients, and to support and care for the counsellor.
