About me

Hi, I’m Amber — a pluralistic psychotherapist with almost five years of experience, offering in-person and online therapy for teenagers, adults, and neurodivergent clients.

Therapy with me is more than just a space to talk — it’s a space to grow, heal, and reconnect with your inner strength. Whether you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or just not quite yourself, I offer a warm, down-to-earth environment where you can show up exactly as you are. No pressure to have the right words. No need to have it all figured out.

I have been fortunate to work with a wide range of clients and issues — including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, identity exploration, and life transitions. My background in Psychology has equipped me to work with more complex issues. My experience spans diverse age groups, neurotypes, and socio-economic backgrounds, and I deeply value the richness this brings to my practice. I offer both in-person and online therapy.

My approach is collaborative and client-led, shaped by what matters most to you. Together, we can process trauma, work through difficult feelings, and gently uncover the patterns that may be holding you back. My goal is to support you in building trust in yourself, finding clarity, and stepping into a more confident, empowered version of you.

As a neurodivergent therapist, I bring both professional and lived experience to the room. I don’t see neurodivergence as something to “fix” — I see it as a meaningful and powerful way of experiencing the world. I know how tiring it can be to navigate a society that wasn’t designed with your brain in mind. Therapy can be a safe space to unmask, decompress, and be fully seen — whether you’re exploring burnout, identity, masking, sensory overload, or simply craving space to be.

I also work with young people. Supporting teenagers is one of the most meaningful parts of my work. I create a space where teens don’t need to pretend or get it “right.” Instead, they’re met with curiosity, compassion, and respect. Together, we explore emotions, identity, challenges, and strengths — and along the way, they build real-life tools they can carry with them long after therapy ends. Skills like self-awareness, emotional regulation, self-trust, and resilience that support them far beyond the counselling room.

Having undergone therapy personally, I understand the courage it takes to begin this journey. My goal is to make the process as comfortable as possible, recognising that everyone moves at their own pace. I believe in creating a warm and supportive space where everyone not only feels heard, but truly understood. You don’t need to be in crisis to start therapy. Sometimes the biggest breakthroughs come from simply making space to pause, reflect, and reconnect.

I’m a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), working in line with their ethical framework to ensure the highest standard of care.

If you’re ready to invest in your wellbeing and discover what’s possible when you have the right support — I’d love to hear from you.
I offer a free 10-minute intro call — no pressure, just a chance to connect and see if it feels like the right fit.

Training, qualifications & experience

I qualified from the University of Edinburgh with a Master's in Counselling with merit. I also hold an honours degree in Psychology from the South African College of Applied Psychology. I have just under 5 years of supervised counselling experience and have been in private practice for 2 years. I am also a member of the BACP. I have been lucky enough to work with a variety of different people and perspectives during my time in the field. This has greatly impacted my ability to understand and connect with clients from many different backgrounds, enhancing my effectiveness as a therapist.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
