About me

I AM OFFERING ONLINE AND FACE TO FACE EMDR THERAPY

If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues or any mental health problems I offer a free telephone consultation.

I'm Amanda, I work as an integrative counsellor which means I am trained in many different styles of counselling, so I will adapt my knowledge to what you need.

I have an understanding of how difficult it can be to arrange counselling and the anxiety it can create. However you have made the first step towards feeling better.

I have over 12 years experience working within the NHS service. I focus my knowledge of therapy around your personal issues and problems. I like to think I offer my clients a different counselling experience and work in a directive way, my clients report that its good to have an interactive counsellor, this enables change to take place quicker.

I also specialise in EMDR which is therapy for traumatic incidents. This may include assault, sexual abuse and serious incidents that may result in anxiety or PTSD.

An example of issues I work with can range from general anxiety disorder, depression, relationship issues, bereavements and childhood issues. For an informal chat about what your specific issue is just call or email me.

In addition to the above I also specialise in depression using a 16 session Interpersonal therapy which focuses on one area that may be contributing to your depression.

Training, qualifications & experience

I completed my Degree in Counselling skills ( core model CBT ) in 2010.

Being accredited with the BACP ensures that you are working with myself at a high standard of theraputic knowledge.

I also worked for Cruse for 2 years focusing around bereavements

In 2014 I completed my EMDR training and have facilitated life changing results for my clients. I am an European accredited EMDR  Consultant

I am also an accredited IPT therapist for depression This therapy helps people with depression and is structured and focused

I have been working in mental health for over 12 years and treat anxiety, depression, PTSD, bereavement, struggles with change plus many other transitions you may be experiencing.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
