About me

I am a BACP Senior Accredited and ACTO approved Counsellor/Psychotherapist working online with individuals. I am also an EMDR Therapy Practitioner and Coach and have worked in private practice for over 10 years. I seek to understand your struggles and collaboratively develop a process to resolve your difficulties. With my empathic and non-judgemental approach you will feel supported, accepted and valued and able to make the decisions and choices that will enhance your well-being and help you live your life in a more satisfying way.

I work Online using a secure platform and my online therapy can be via webcam, voice, instant messaging or email.

I am dedicated to working therapeutically in a way that is right for you and use approaches that will help you to get the best from your sessions. I am a qualified person centred therapist and trained to use a range of approaches including CBT, Mindfulness, Solution Focused Therapy and EMDR. (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) Therapy.

EMDR Therapy is an effective and well researched therapy originally developed for the treatment of PTSD and after effects of severe trauma. EMDR Therapy does not require you to discuss your trauma in detail and bilateral stimulation is only part of the process. EMDR Therapy is a comprehensive therapeutic approach with principles, protocols and procedures with the goal of reducing distress in the shortest period of time. As well as trauma EMDR Therapy is also successful in effectively treating anxiety, depression, avoidance, phobias and panic.

My practice is monitored by qualified supervisors and is bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and the ACTO Code of Ethics. I am also listed on the BACP Professional Standards Authority accredited register. I hold both DBS and ICO certificates.

If you would like to have an informal phone call to find out how I can help, please feel free to contact me.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
