Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

Further information

Life in the modern world can be enormously stressful and difficult to cope with. Sometimes our past experiences continue to affect us and shape our thinking leading to distress and negative patterns of behaviour. Sometimes it's our relationship under strain or worry over our family or news we have just received but whatever our concerns or fears, we are undoubtedly better off when we feel heard and supported. As a counsellor I will help you tell your story or share your worries and work with you to find solutions or better ways of coping. I will help you make sense of your experiences resolving distress along the way. The first step is often the most difficult and that is why whenever you call me, I will always treat your call with the greatest of respect and confidence.I look forward to hearing from you whenever you feel ready.
