About me

Anxious? Having panic attacks? Feeling low and overhelmed? Grieving? We are going through unprecedented times and it is now, more than ever,  important that we  look after our mental health.

To reach out and tell someone our deepest emotions and experiences can be a very brave and difficult step to take. However, to be able to talk about our deepest fears and confront our inner demons can be liberating. Through talking and feeling really listened to we can feel less alone and our thoughts and feelings can be given more clarity.

As you are your own best expert on your wants and needs, I won't judge you or give you advice. I will sit with you and explore options so that you can decide the best way forward for you.

I specialise in bereavement counselling as grief and loss are a huge part of our lives and, whilst a normal reaction to devastating loss  it can lead to us feeling ill and bereft.  I am also a Pet Bereavement counsellor as I value and appreciate the love, devotion and unconditional love animals bring to our lives. I also never underestimate the emotional distress and acute pain losing a beloved pet may bring.

I have 17 years counselling experience working in private practice and a diversity of counselling organisations.

I am a person centred counsellor using a pluralistic approach which incorporates aspects of other counselling models. This ensures a client is offered a counselling approach which best suits their needs.

I work with short term therapy and long term. Both short and long term are solution focused rather than problem focused. The client decides how long the therapy lasts, this could be one session, several sessions or a session when needed. I am client-led and flexible. We will have continual reviews as therapy progresses.

I work at a reduced rate in my private practice in order to provide more accessibility to counselling.

I offer a confidential service which covers days and evenings.  I work flexibly to accommodate client needs.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
