Amanda-Jane Fitzsimmons BSc(Hons), Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, MBACP
The counselling I offer can help you to reduce confusion and enable choice or change by offering the opportunity to explore aspects of your life, thoughts and feelings.
As a warm and professional practitioner, I offer a person-centred approach meaning that you, and what you need, will be the focus of the sessions. I also work integratively; this means that I may draw on knowledge from other theories, for example Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or Transactional Analysis, if I feel this may be helpful for you.
I will draw on both my theoretical knowledge of counselling and my practical experience in my work with you; I am a strong believer in the importance of the development of the therapeutic relationship in enabling the counselling process. With this in mind, it is important that you feel comfortable with me as your counsellor so if you have any questions, or would like any further information, you are welcome to contact me by email or telephone or to book an initial, one-off session (please see further details in Fees section).
I appreciate that it takes courage to take this first, brave step and can assure you of a respectful and understanding response; recognising that this is your choice.
