About me

By offering you the opportunity to explore aspects of your life, thoughts and feelings, the counselling I offer can help to reduce your confusion and enable choice or change.

As a warm and professional practitioner, I offer a person-centred approach meaning that you, and what you need, will be the focus of the sessions. I also work integratively; this means that I may draw on knowledge from other theories, for example, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or Transactional Analysis, if I feel this may be helpful for you.

I have experience of a wide range of presenting issues from my work in Time-Limited Therapy as the Practice Counsellor in two NHS Devon GP Surgeries.  I am also an Associate Lecturer in Counselling Skills.

I will draw on both my theoretical knowledge of counselling and my practical experience in my work with you; I am a strong believer in the importance of the development of the therapeutic relationship in enabling the counselling process.  With this in mind, it is important that you feel comfortable with me as your counsellor so if you have any questions, or would like any further information, please do have a look at my website or you are welcome to contact me by email or telephone.  I recognise that it takes courage to take this first, brave step and can assure you of a respectful and understanding response; recognising that this is your choice.

Further information

I work from the 'Wellmoor' counselling room at Moretonhampstead Hospital. This is a light, airy and private room and there is also limited parking available at the Hospital.

Alternatively, I use rooms at the Okement Centre in Okehampton; there are various public car parks around Okehampton.

Please do have a look at my website for further information; you are also welcome to contact me direct, via email or telephone, if you have any questions.

As I feel there is no substitute for meeting face-to-face, I am happy to book an initial one-off session (reduced rate) to give you the opportunity to see if working in this way is right for you.

I look forward to hearing from you.
