Please note that if you think you may be looking for long-term counselling, I will be taking a sabbatical from March-June 2019 and will not be available during that time.
I offer a space to be, and to talk about whatever you bring to the sessions, with someone who is trained to listen with empathy and without judgement, to reflect and to offer insight.
I qualified as a counsellor in 2004. Since then I have built up experience of seeing clients with a wide range of issues including bereavement and loss, depression and anxiety, physical illness, relationship issues, issues around self-esteem and self-confidence, work-related issues, and life transitions.
I also have interests in spirituality and creativity, and how we may fulfil our potential and become more the people we are meant to be.
I have a Christian background but prefer to think of myself as spiritual rather than religious. My background has given me experience and insight into the struggles that can often be experienced on the journey of faith. I welcome enquiries from those who may be undergoing struggles on their faith journey or experiencing prejudice from within their faith community, or indeed those who may be looking for spiritual guidance. However, I do not think of myself as a Christian counsellor, and therefore this would not come into the counselling sessions unless it is brought by the client.
My professional experience has also included working in student support in a university.
