I am an accredited counsellor based in the southside of Glasgow, offering one to one counselling sessions to adults and young people aged 11-18.
As a person centred therapist, I am focused on the individual needs of every client. My role is not to tell my clients what they should or shouldn't do, but rather to work together to find a solution. I offer a safe, empathic, confidential space for clients to explore the things in their lives that are causing difficulties.
I have worked with both adults and young people for 6 years in a variety of community projects around Glasgow. These include an alcohol awareness project in Easterhouse and a young person's drop in clinic in Castlemilk. I have spent the past 4 years working as a counsellor in high schools in East Renfrewshire and at an adult counselling service in Barrhead.
My therapy room is conveniently located in Thornliebank Industrial Estate, near the M77 Darnley/Paisley cut off and is easy to access via public transport. There is also ample free parking available.
I offer face to face counselling, as well as telephone and online. I am happy to speak to potential clients on the phone to answer any and all questions, and to give you a sense of who I am and how I work.
Training, qualifications & experience
I achieved my post graduated certificate in counselling skills at Strathclyde University in 2009, and then went on to complete my diploma in counselling at Strathclyde University in 2011.
As well as working with adults and young people on a one to one basis, I also have experience of working in a corporate setting offering crisis support and counselling.
I have a particular interest in working with young people, as I have spent the past 6 years working as a youth counsellor within different high schools and youth centres in and around Glasgow.
