About me

Who am I and how do I work?

I am a qualified, accredited, experienced and skilled counsellor and psychotherapist. I offer professional counselling and psychotherapy in a confidential and comfortable setting within my private practice at my home in Pembury (near Tunbridge Wells, Kent). I work integratively to offer a bespoke therapy to meet your individual needs. The models of therapy I use are Humanistic (Person-Centred, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis) and CBT.

How counselling can help

People seek counselling/ psychotherapy for various reasons and issues, all of which will be met by me with acceptance and empathy. I believe in a trusting relationship between a therapist and client to support you in what you would like to achieve through counselling/psychotherapy. I will endeavour to provide a safe, non-judgemental space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, enabling you to gain a greater sense of awareness about your past and present circumstances.

Where have I worked?

Alongside my private practice, I also work as a senior counsellor and psychotherapist in two GP clinics and have had experience working in schools through 'Place 2 Be', CRUSE (a bereavement agency) and a trauma clinic specialising in adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and domestic abuse.

I offer short and long term counselling/ psychotherapy as well as telephone counselling/psychotherapy.

I am an accredited member of the BACP and work in accordance with their code of ethics.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
