Allison Skinner

About me
Hello and thank you for looking at my profile. My name is Allison and I am a Clinical Supervisor and qualified Counsellor. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).
There are times in our life when we experience emotional difficulties for many reasons. Sometimes talking things through with our family and friends helps, and sometimes it's not enough and we may be left feeling we need extra support.
That's where I can help. I have been a qualified counsellor for several years and I offer face to face counselling within a confidential, safe, non-judgmental space in which we can work together to explore the experiences and issues you may be struggling with.
I am an integrative counsellor which means I draw on several theories (which include person-centred, cognitive behaviour therapy and transactional analysis) to ensure that, together, we create the therapeutic approach that suits your unique needs and individuality.
I work with male and female adults, and have substantial experience working with a variety of issues, which includes depression, anxiety, past issues, childhood issues, current issues, relationship issues and anger.
I work from a warm, comfortable, confidential room which is easily accessible and provides ample parking. So if you feel you could benefit from extra support where you will feel heard and understood, I invite you to contact me on 07725 868679 to discuss how I may be able to help.

I understand and respect how difficult - and sometime scary - it can be to enter therapy, and the amount of courage that's needed to make that initial step towards positive change. I consider myself to be a warm person who is empathic and non-judgmental, and I believe I have the personal attributes to create and maintain the trusting relationship that is essential for us to positively work through your issues together.
