About me
I love people. All kinds of people from all kinds of backgrounds, each one unique, fascinating, and with so much to give. But sometimes the brokenness of the world puts an individual's light out. Counselling can help you discover yours again.
In individual counselling we will explore past hurts, face present realities, and find ways to help you thrive in your life ahead. For some this is a short journey, of 2-3 months; for others it may take longer. But for however long, I can support you in your journey towards wholeness. I will not judge or direct you; I will offer empathy and understanding, and will walk with you through the darkness, empowering you to find hope and light again.
People are made for relationships. The quality of our closest relationships has a huge impact on our happiness and wellbeing. Yet many of us are stuck in places without the relational depth, harmony and joy we long for.
In couples counselling I will work with you to unravel the relational patterns, habits and conflicts that are destroying connection, and give you tools to build a new, healthy, joy-filled dynamic for the future.
My primary 'client' in couples counselling is the relationship itself, and I love to work with couples who are hungry for change.
I take an integrative approach to all my counselling, drawing on pyschodynamic and humanistic approaches, as well as CBT. I have significant additional training and experience in trauma, and understand the ways in which this can affect people and their relationships profoundly. I believe sex is an important part of a couples' relationship and have undertaken additional training to support this work.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified integrative therapist. This means I have training in different counselling approaches and theoretical models and can adapt my practice to suit you. I draw from humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural approaches, and have additional specialist training in trauma.
I am also a qualified couples counsellor.
I have experience of helping people through many different struggles. My areas of special interest are trauma, particularly childhood abuse, and sexuality, sex and relationships.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Association of Christians in Counselling and Linked Professions (ACC) is a Christian professional membership organisation for those involved in counselling/psychotherapy and linked professions, i.e. pastoral care, coaching and spiritual direction, in the UK. The organisation is made up of various different membership categories, including Counsellor and Accredited, and requires all members working as counsellors to undertake Continuous Professional Development on a regular basis.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
