Alison Steven Dip.Couns. Reg.BACP
Do you need to talk to someone about your difficulties? I have loads of experience from living overseas for a few years, being self employed, running a business, and being a wife and Grandmother!! I have also been counselling for over 8 years.
I offer affordable Counselling that provides an opportunity for a client to work through their own particular difficulties with my support, making it possible to safely explore thoughts and feelings around current or past experiences, in a confidential setting.
I aim to provide a non-judgemental and understanding atmosphere to help clients gain new insights about themselves and their situation, in order for them to think about different ways to deal with their difficulties and so find a new way to respond, which hopefully leads to personal growth, a better way to live and consequently a greater sense of peace.
What my clients have said: Client A 'Alison was warm. compassionate, easy to talk to, a great listener with really helpful insights.' (There has been) 'Improvement in relationships with others - ability to set boundaries and be more assertive, increase in feelings of self-worth and well being. A decrease in unhealthy habits.'
Client B (I have) 'A much much deeper sense of self-awareness, in terms of my past and its impact, and on my daily mental health now .....And so much more.'
Client C 'Talking to Alison was such a relief - it took the hurt out of my heart.... Always such a welcome and a big smile and a cup of coffee!' (Client names withheld to maintain confidentiality)

Some of the issues I have assisted clients through are anxiety and depression, bereavement, grief and loss, stress, abuse and relationship difficulties
