Alison Steven Dip.Couns. Reg.BACP
Do you need to find someone outside your situation to talk through your difficulties?
I offer affordable Counselling that provides an opportunity for a client to work through their own particular difficulties with my support, making it possible to safely explore thoughts and feelings around current or past experiences, in a confidential setting.
There has been a lot of coverage in the media recently about mental health and wellbeing highlighting the difficulties many of us face with depression and anxiety. If any of the recent programmes or discussions have touched you I may be able to help especially with stress related problems, anxiety and depression.
I aim to provide a non-judgemental and understanding atmosphere to help clients gain new insights about themselves and their situation, in order for them to think about different ways to deal with their difficulties and so find a new way to respond, which hopefully leads to personal growth, a better way to live and consequently a greater sense of peace.
Training, qualifications & experience
Some of the issues I have assisted clients through are anxiety and depression, bereavement, grief and loss, stress, abuse and relationship difficulties
I have worked at the Shinewater Counselling Centre, Eastbourne in the past and currently work one day a week at Southover Counselling Centre, Lewes as well as seeing clients privately at my home. I am also one of a team of counsellors who work for Chichester Diocese supporting clergy and families.
I qualified with a Dip.HE in Counselling, and I am based in Herstmonceux, East Sussex. I offer confidential, one to one counselling, using an Integrative approach, incorporating a spiritual world view for those who would find this helpful. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and so adhere to their ethical framework of good practice and am subject to their professional conduct and procedures.
