Are you feeling depressed or anxious, unable to make decisions? Do you worry that you'll feel like this forever? Sometimes problems can seem overwhelming and it's hard to work out a solution. But talking to someone does help. Being able to share your problems can make you feel less alone.
I am an accredited counsellor with many years experience and I can offer you a safe and confidential space in which to explore your difficulties. I work within a Person-Centred framework which means that I put you at the centre of therapy and I will work with you in whatever way I can to support you.
We all fear being judged and often that means we can’t be ourselves. It is my belief that the more you can be yourself the more you will be able to work out your own answers to problems. My job is to make you feel safe and supported so that you can develop your own resources and can find your own way to deal with difficulties in life.
I won’t tell you what to do but I do have a number of professional techniques which I can make available to you. I have studied CBT techniques and therapeutic writing and have found these very helpful in therapy.
We all spend so much time meeting other people’s needs that sometimes we forget about our own. Choosing to come for counselling is about valuing yourself, considering that you are worth taking time over.

Supervision & training
I am a tutor on the part-time Diploma course at Strathclyde University and offer supervision to students and qualified practitioners.I also run supervision groups. I believe that supervision is an essential part of counselling. Having a safe space to consider our work helps us to grow and to take care of ourselves. I work in a humanistic/relational way and am happy to work with different modalities. .
