About me
I am an experienced counsellor who uses an integrative approach and works with each client as an individual. I have worked extensively with individuals and couples dealing with a wide variety of issues including abuse, depression, anxiety, addictions, relationship difficulties, bereavement and spiritual struggles. Counselling takes place in a comfortable and private room in my home in Linlithgow and I seek to create a therapeutic environment where each client feels safe, accepted and understood.
I am experienced in face to face counselling, online counselling and telephone counselling.
As an integrative counsellor, I respond to the individual and we work together in the way that best suits you. This can include the use of creative methods if this way of working is helpful for you.
I have particular experience and training in the area of trauma, abuse and dissociative disorders.
I was a General Practitioner until 1997 and following a career break due to family commitments, retrained as a counsellor. I have worked as a counsellor in the charity sector since 2002 and remain a counsellor and trustee of the charity Libertas Christian Counselling (SC 038906) alongside my private practice. I also provide counselling supervision, pastoral supervision and mentoring.
If it would be helpful to speak on the phone prior to meeting I would be happy to do so.
