I have been working full time in psychiatry for over thirty years. I am an experienced therapist who has helped people with a wide variety of problems. Recently I have decided to start a private practice, having worked initially in the NHS and then in the private sector for many years. I have facilitated groups and see clients individually.
I am a Cognitive Behavioural and EMDR therapist. I am currently offering online sessions. I am an accredited member of the BABCP and work within their code of ethics.
Training, qualifications & experience
I completed my counselling training in 1996 and went on to complete my 3 years training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in 2009. I have been a member of the BABCP since 2007 and am now an Accredited member. I have trained in EMDR and am a Practitioner in EMDR with EMDR Europe/EMDR UK.
Due to the length of service within the field of psychiatry I have been able to work with clients suffering from Depression; Anxiety disorders; OCD; Health Anxiety; Trauma; Body Dysmorphic Disorder; Phobias; Panic Disorder; low self esteem and bereavement. This list is not exhaustive but reflects some of the concerns people may experience which I am able to help with.
