Alison De Ledesma Registered MBACP (accred)
Tomorrow does not have to be the same as yesterday!
As an experienced counsellor and as an accredited member of BACP I offer you a confidential, safe and supportive space in which you can explore, understand grow and change.
What is counselling?
Counselling is talking. As a counsellor I listen and I do not judge you.
I believe that change can occur when we begin to explore and understand the power of our subconscious needs which are perhaps influenced by our earliest experiences. So this is about feelings - your feelings; it is also curiosity - 'why do I feel like this'? Working with your counsellor is a way to find answers to this question. Those answers can lead you to changes.
Counselling and Transformation
As a counsellor I find there are a whole range of theories to draw on - finding the right 'tools' to help you - so that you can find your own answers!
As an experienced counsellor I am aware that we all have different needs so my relationship with each one of you will depend on the relationship we create between us. I believe that this 'therapeutic relationship' or simply if we are able to relate with trust then this relationship is capable of creating a space for change so that tomorrow does not have to be a repetition of yesterday.
And the first step is for us to talk so that we can discuss your needs.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Choosing a counsellor is both important and personal. You would need to tell me what you want and what you are looking for in a counsellor. And I would need to let you know if I think I can be of help to you.
I work with adults over the age of 18 individually on a short term, time limited basis or on an open ended long term basis. I also work with couples.
The counselling sessions are for 50 minutes weekly. For more information please look at my web site or contact me email or phone. Couples counselling sessions are 60 minutes
I work on line either Zoom or Doxy.me some clients prefer FaceTime and some prefer audio or phone
