About me

Life's changes can be overwhelming, leaving you feeling anxious, depressed, stressed or lacking confidence. This comes in many forms such as bereavement, redundancy, health issues and age related challenges to name but a few.

I offer you a safe space to unpack your thoughts and face your fears and concerns. Together we will explore the challenges you are experiencing, enabling you to understand and adapt your response to them. Then through our work, you will identify the skills and abilities you already possess to continue your life journey in your changed world.

Perhaps this is your first time thinking about counselling and you are wondering if it would work for you. Or you may have had therapy before and are looking to explore the next part of your journey with someone new? Either way why not get in touch and we can discuss what you are looking for and next steps?

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor which means that I draw upon different ideas and interventions to suit your needs, with a focus on building a strong, supportive and trusting relationship with you.

I have been involved in the field of personal development, stress management and resilience building for over two decades. My expertise focusses on areas that include coping with anxiety, navigating loss and bereavement, confidence and self esteem building, work based challenges, health challenges and age related issues.

I am a BACP member and also an NCH qualified hypnotherapist and ANLP Master Practitioner. I have also been involved with a local cancer support charity for over a decade and also volunteer for Cruse bereavement services.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
