'How do I find the right therapist?' Even choosing the right therapist may seem daunting at the moment. I have detailed some information below which hopefully may help you.
1. First and foremost you will need to feel comfortable talking to your therapist.
As you can see, it's easy to find a counsellor/psychotherapist, but we all have different personalities and the important thing is to find someone who you can completely trust, who also has the experience to help you make changes for the better in your life.
I offer a safe and confidential setting to explore personal problems. My aim is to offer a warm, non-judgemental, caring setting in order to build a trusting therapeutic relationship.
The initial consultation session will be a great opportunity to see how you feel about how I work. This is an initial meeting which is a friendly and relaxed discussion to answer any questions, and to identify your counselling needs. And of course, there is no obligation at all to continue afterwards. The decision will be totally up to you.
2. You will need someone experienced in working with your particular issue.
I am a BACP Accredited and Registered Counsellor and am competent to work with clients in most areas of counselling but it is always valuable if they have first-hand experience of your particular issue. My experience is extensive and I have worked with a broad range of issues. please see below:-
3. You will want a counsellor who can help you to find your own solutions to whatever issue or concern has brought you to therapy.
This will empower you and give you the tools and resources you need to have greater control over your life and live in a more satisfying and positive way. I am here to help you explore any difficulties you may be experiencing, in order to empower you, to make the necessary changes to live a more fulfilling life.
4. You will need a therapist with the right qualifications.
A therapist's credentials and qualifications can tell you a lot about how adept they will be at helping you through your problems.
