About me

Welcome, I am Alice, a Counsellor and Psychotherapist.

I offer one to one counselling for young people and adults.

I work in the best way to suit each of my client’s individual needs, within an integrative approach. This will be person- centered CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), psychodynamic or TA (transaction analysis). I offer short term or long term therapy. I run a private practice from my home that is a safe, separate space from my house. I also run sessions on the phone, online (zoom) or through email/whatsapp service.

Working collaboratively in my experience can be highly beneficial for my clients. My therapy sessions will help you to piece together different aspects of your life (environment, feelings, thoughts and behaviours). This can break down what is triggering your negative thoughts. Our aim is to recognize these unwanted, negative thoughts and replace them with positive. The negative thoughts can prevent us from growing as a person and cause barriers. Breaking down those barriers is when we start to see positive results.

Counselling can help us to talk in a safe space without judgement.  Recognizing that it is time for you to seek help through counselling is important, putting your own well- Being first can be a difficult task. We often put family, work and friends before our own self. It may be time for you to put your own needs first , by taking the first steps to start counselling.

Sometimes in life we face challenges that are beyond the limit of support from our family and friends. Counselling can give you wider support, time and reflection for the problems you are facing. Our end goal in counselling is for you to reach personal growth and feel you have an understanding of your situation. You will have a person you can talk to within the safe, confidential boundaries that counselling brings. This can be just what is needed to reach your full potential. Happiness is what we strive towards.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
