About me

I work with teenagers and adults who are struggling to live with a loss in their lives. Loss can be that of a person dear to you, a friend, a parent, a partner or a child. It can be your own childhood that has been lost or taken away. Loss can be societal and economic, such as a job, financial stability, your home or displacement from your home environment. It can be physical; the loss of a healthy functioning body and mind or the loss of sexual or gender identity. It can also be psychological, spiritual and emotional, as in a loss of self, a loss of purpose, of hope, of healthy feelings that allow us to engage with others and have meaningful relationships. And sometimes the loss is not even ours but inherited from the generations before us.

Through a combination of talking and art therapies designed to suit your needs, the work we will do aims to unpack the grief as well as the other parts of you such as the anxiety, the depression, and the addictive and compulsive behaviors that have helped you cope. By providing a safe and compassionate space I may be able to guide you towards re-imagining the story of your loss.

Art therapy has the potential to access aspects of the self that may be hidden from the conscious mind. Using your body to create can bring an awareness of experiences and feelings that words can often struggle to express. The choices you make through body movements and the use of materials accesses parts of you that are autonomous and separate to the inherited parts of you. As well as using art-making to bring insight, the arts are also used to support somatic health using the innate ways that art-making regulates the body.

I have worked in an inner city special needs and disabilities secondary school, the NHS alcohol and substance misuse services and currently work with REVOKE, a charity organisation meeting the needs of young asylum seekers and refugees. Gender dysphoria, sexual trauma and ADHD are amongst the issues I work with.

I run my private practice from Tufnell Park, North London on Mondays and Bethnal Green, East London on Tuesdays. Our first session will determine whether I can provide the treatment you require. This interaction also gives us the opportunity to see whether we are a good fit for the therapeutic journey ahead of us. This is an invitation to come into a safe and confidential space where we can talk, reflect, explore, create and/or simply be.
