About me

I am an HCPC Chartered Counselling Psychologist (PYL 31838) and Registered Member of the BACP (234643). The focus of my work is based upon developing a therapeutic relationship with clients which is integral to good practice.

I aim to create a trusting, safe and collaborative space for clients that allows for reflection on their lives, increasing self awareness and opening up choices. I work for the NHS and independently across all ages. I use CBT, psychodynamic and an integrative approach in my work. I can offer supervision or therapy for trainee doctoral counselling psychologists.

In our first session we will explore your situation and expectations of therapy with no obligation to commit further nor to a minimum number of sessions although we could discuss that together dependent on needs.

I can work short term (4, 6 or 8 sessions), as well as provide longer term therapy or open ended therapy. Depending on your needs sessions generally last an hour and are at regular times.

I accept cash at the end of a session or accept prompt payments by BACS and Paypal

I charge from £60 if independent or £75 if funded through the workplace or private insurance. I will negotiate a separate fee in regard to assessments. I offer concessions to students, trainees and supervisees to be discussed first.

If you need to cancel a session please note I require 48 hours notice otherwise charges will apply. This is standard protocol.

Further information

My ethos reflects the values of Counselling Psychology practice with emphasis on personal meaning and experience. I work using an integrative approach to tailor therapy to the client's needs. I have long term experience in using Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT). I have experience and training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and also Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. I have worked with personality disorders and with OCD as well as post addiction or with phobias.

I am experienced in carrying out assessment across our health services (CAMHS, Primary and Secondary Care and Inpatient Units). I have experience in working with complex problems also children, teens and families. This includes persons with learning difficulties LD and neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autistic Spectrum Conditions. I am trained in ADOS and ADI-R and experienced in family and parenting work. My approach is informed by psychological formulation to help to explore and understand the client’s difficulties.
