At our first session we can explore your situation and your expectations of therapy with no obligation to commit to further sessions nor to a minimum number of sessions although we would discuss that together dependent on your needs.
I can work short term (4, 6 or 8 sessions), as well as provide long term therapy and open ended therapy. Depending on your needs sessions generally last an hour and are at planned or regular times.
I accept cash at the end of a session or accept prompt payments by BACS and Paypal
I charge from £60 if independent or £75 if funded through the workplace or private insurance. I will negotiate separately in regard to undertaking assessments. I offer concessions to students, trainees and supervisees but has to be discussed first.
If you need to cancel a session please note that I require 48 hours notice otherwise charges will still apply. This is a standard protocol.
My ethos reflects the values of Counselling Psychology practice with emphasis on personal meaning and experience. I work using an integrative approach to tailor therapy to the client's needs. I have long term experience in using Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT). I have experience and training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and also Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.
I am experienced in carrying out assessment across multiple services (CAMHS, Primary and Secondary care also Inpatient Units) and I have longstanding experience in working with complex problems also with children, teens and families. This includes persons with learning difficulties and neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autistic Spectrum Conditions. I am trained in ADOS and ADI-R and experienced in family work and promoting parenting skills. My approach is informed by psychological formulation to explore and understand the client’s difficulties.
