About me

**Because of the current circumstances, I am only offering online sessions at the moment. I have lowered my fees to £35.00 per session while this is the case. I offer a free initial 30-minute consultation as an opportunity for you to see if remote sessions would work for you.**

I believe that life is filled with challenges and obstacles for a reason; that these have inherent in them a great potential for personal growth and transformation that only becomes manifest once we face our problems and endeavour to understand them. The first step towards overcoming our sorrow is to listen to what it has to tell us: the lesson that it is here to teach. Nonetheless, most of us do not have the presence, nor the guidance, nor the knowledge of how to provide our difficult thoughts and emotions with the space that they need. This lack of space is what leads to increased anxiety, depression, as well as low self-esteem.

As we’ve grown older, we’ve become increasingly overwhelmed by our feelings that we have developed the tendency to push them away — deep inside! This is the reason why most of us tend to regard our emotional experience as a heavy burden. We've built the dam and now we're wondering why we're drowning!

The therapy that I offer is designed with the goal of providing space to ourselves — to our difficult thoughts and emotions. This is, I believe, the only way to lasting inner peace and fulfilment. As long as we keep our emotions at arm's length or hidden in a dark corner, life will remain superficial, unsatisfying and conflict-ridden.

There is a way to live in which we can be at peace within ourselves and put an end to this endless inner struggle that is slowly consuming our lives.

I work with people of all ages, ethnicities, cultural backgrounds and sexual orientations. All individuals and couples are welcome!

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a registered member of the BACP (MBACP). I trained as a counsellor at the University of Northampton (MSc Counselling) and later trained as a psychologist at BPP University London (MSc Psychology).

I was enrolled in a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology (DCounsPsych) at the University of Manchester but decided to leave the course after I realised that, sadly, academia tends to interfere with the clarity and directness that I believe need to be at the core of any fruitful counselling approach.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
