About me

Hello my name is Alex Jamison and I am the founder of Adapt-Therapies. Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious or down? If so, you're not alone and you are in the right place to seek support. I primarily focus on helping clients with understanding and managing stress, anxiety and depression, using a variety of evidence-based approaches and techniques - to help them gain a greater sense of control and enjoyment in their lives.

Seeking support in therapy can be daunting, believe me - I've been there. I offer a free online, initial assessment session to get clients started. So if you are interested or just want to find out more, send me an email and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Thank you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I qualified from Derby university in September 2020 with a distinction as an 'Integrative Psychotherapist'. To date, I have accrued over 500 hours of clinical experience in one to one therapy sessions, working with clients on addressing a variety of issues and towards achieving their individual goals. These sessions have led to many positive outcomes (Visit my website to see some testimonials from clients I have worked with: www.adapt-therapies.co.uk).

As an integrative psychotherapist, my approach is made up of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person Centred Therapy and Attachment Theory. However, I also draw upon Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing. I strongly believe that an adaptive and integrative approach is best, as we are all unique.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
