Welcome, my hope is that you may have found the right counsellor for you. If you've been considering counselling, or simply want to try a counsellor with more than just a qualification, you are possibly in the right place.

My name is Alex, I have a supportive and natural approach to conducting truly healing and therapeutic conversations. As well as a scientific backing for how I practice therapy, the heartfelt outcome I work toward, is for you to discover what wellbeing in your life looks and feels like. The easiest way to find out if I am a good match, is to call for a free chat, and ask any questions you may have, or to simply get a feel for what talking with me might be like.

An article written about me and my practice says:

"Alex has been helping people better understand and cope with their lives, both at work and at home, since 2003. It is simple to find out if he is the right fit for you, just call and have a conversation about what you are hoping for. Alex helps people from all over the world, from different backgrounds and different professions, both groups and individuals, in corporate and family settings. It really matters to him that we all find the right people to help us, so even if calling him once is what helps you to start figuring out what kind of therapy you need (even if it isn't him), this is a great first step.

His approach means really listening to what your unique needs are and working with you to see what can be done to begin to move towards feeling better, or improving your situation. Both short term and long term arrangements can be made, depending on what your specific needs are.”

I work with people's unique and specific needs, with an understanding that Life does not have labels and categories, other than the ones we assign it. I have combined best practice from a wide range of therapies to make sure that those I am helping receive the highest quality of care. With a scientific grounding, I believe our personal reality is one that can be pleasant, even though unpleasant things happen to us sometimes, or even that we may (in some cases) make life unpleasant for ourselves.

Being and feeling truly alive means embracing life, for what it is. This can sometimes be easier to say than to do. I understand that, because we are complicated beings, our path may not always be straight, that sometimes there are twists and turns that take even the most capable of us by surprise. To train myself and others to cope with life's changing nature, I have learned how “people” are viewed from the perspective of different disciplines and schools of thought, so I am continually learning to be the best help I can possibly be, for each new person I meet. Creating a more and more detailed map of "human" I can help you navigate territories that may feel unfamiliar to you, or even work with you to figure out how to get out of "too familiar" spaces; spots that we may be stuck in, or patterns we may be repeating.

My ultimate wish is for people to find what will really, truly work for them, if I can be helpful in that process I consider it a real honour. The best way to find out if that is possible for you, is to call and talk about it.

Call or Text 07391 697905 and communicate directly with Alex, not a reception desk.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
