I am incredibly passionate about my work as a Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor and Practice Manager of Sullivan & Associates and I provide a safe, non-judgemental space in which you can feel heard and address any issue you wish to bring to therapy. I have a flexible approach to working with clients and will tailor my therapy style to meet your needs.
As a registered and accredited member of the BACP I work within their professional standards and code of ethics.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am the Practice Manager for a private practice called Sullivan & Associates (please see website for details). Our qualified team of clinicians are based predominantly in Leicestershire and Rutland, but operate throughout the Midlands. We offer training, individual and relationship counselling, coaching and psychotherapy. Our team also has expertise in delivering clinical supervision, both to counselling and psychotherapy colleagues, but also within a cross-disciplinary setting.
As well as working with adult individuals and couples, my experience and training covers working with young people.
I work therapeutically in educational settings with both staff and students.
I have over 10 years experience in the Probation and Prison service, working with both young offenders and victims of serious crime. I offer Clinical Supervision to prison and probation staff, youth workers and social workers.
As well as holding a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling, I am Relate trained and I am competent in working with couples and individuals of any age, ethnic background and sexuality. I am also a BACP Registered and Accredited Pscyhotherapist.
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
