My Philosophy

I believe therapy is about having a confidential, warm and supportive space to work through your concerns at your own pace.

My Approach

I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, experienced in using different therapeutic models such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) as well as psychodynamic models, including its short-term version, which is called Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT). I offer talking therapy for range of difficulties including depression, anxiety and trauma.

It is crucial to find the right therapy for you. Although I specialise in specific types of therapy, my approach is integrative drawing upon different therapeutic models. This is to accommodate your individual needs. Whatever the model of therapy, I believe, the most important aspect is to build trusting therapeutic relationship so that you feel comfortable and safe in session. This is when therapy works at its best.

My Motivation

I believe talking therapy works because it offers unique space where you can feel understood. Getting to know individual contexts motivates me. Even though we all experience similar problems, yet we are all different. This is why I dedicate a lot of effort to understand each person’s distinct inner world. The curiosity keeps me motivated.

A Little About Me

As well as my work with The British CBT & Counselling Service, I also work for the NHS, offering psychological therapy to adults experiencing a variety of mental health problems, including depression, anxiety or abuse. I have extensive experience working with people who suffered trauma, including female and male victims of domestic violence and people diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder.

I have a special interest working with individuals who experience depression rooted in relational problems. Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy has been proven to be very helpful with such difficulties.

In my practice I have worked with a variety of cultural backgrounds which inspires me to remain curious and open minded to the personal context of each individual I work with.

  • Bupa
  • Axa
  • Cigna
  • Pru Health
  • Aviva
  • Simply Health
  • WPA
  • and more…

It may be possible to use your private health insurance to cover the cost or part of the cost of your appointments. Each healthcare provider (Bupa, Axa, Aviva, Cigna etc) have slightly different policies but most of them are happy for you to approach us directly in the first instance

Axa require a referral from a Psychiatrist in order to access your policy and we are happy to help arrange this with you.

Bupa require a referral from your GP in order to access your policy. GP’s are often happy to provide a referral following a phone consultation instead of a traditional face to face appointment in the surgery as it is more time efficient.

With the above a quick call to your healthcare provider should allow them clarify these details.

It is worth noting that not all policies will cover the full cost of your treatment. We will advise you of the availability of healthcare appointments, and any cost implications in your initial enquiry.

Some healthcare providers have fees which are different to our self funding rates detailed above. If these are less than our own rate we have to ask that the shortfall is made up by the patient. Please just remember to tell us who your provider is as soon as possible to avoid any confusion when booking.
