I am a Clinical Gestalt Psychotherapist working for a number of years in a primary care setting and Employee Assistance Programmes, i.e. Staff counselling with numerous organisations and companies. My experience is broad and varied having worked with many ares including personality disorders/traits, Grief and loss, anxiety and depression and many areas of victims of sexual/physical and emotional abuse.
I am interested in the needs and wants of the client and seeking to work in a creative and genuine relationship.
My Philosophy is about making whole that which has become fractured, further enhanced by my experience as a Gestalt Psychotherapist working with body process and Trauma.
I have worked with many areas of client issues including Trauma, bereavement,grief and loss, attachment, bullying, sexual identity, relationships, sexual,psychological and physical abuse,
anxiety and depression.
I work both from home in Beverley and work as a Senior Psychotherapist for Focus Counselling in the Hull and East Riding area seeing clients from a broad range of organisations.
I also offer Psychotherapy in private practice working from both Beverley and Hull.
I also offer supervision to organisations and individuals who use counselling as a career or those who use Counselling skills.
I Supervise staff at a North Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire service who support female and males who have suffered sexual and domestic abuse.
Training, qualifications & experience
MSc in Clinical Gestalt Psychotherapy (UKCP accred) at The Metanoia Institute, London.
Foundation Degree in counselling theory and practice at Leeds Met University.
I have over 11 years experience as a therapist in private practice also working for Focus counselling services in Hull working both short and long term EAP work with clients from large and small local organisations, trusts. private clients also.
I also work for a service who have the contract for counselling for the local foundation trust working with clients from a range of diverse backgrounds.
My initial training coincided with my Cruse bereavement training which I worked with until recently.
I have 11 years post training and gained employment on completion of the graduation.
I have a gentle and caring attitude being described as reliable, safe and warm from previous and current clients.
