About me

Hello, I am Alana, an accredited Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) Psychotherapist based in Glasgow. I can offer you an open, accepting and safe space for us to explore whats going on for you together.

I work in a collaborative way with my clients, supporting their exploration and understanding of what has brought you in to therapy. At our first appointment we will take time to consider you're aims and goals of therapy. You will quickly feel at ease in the knowledge that you are at the centre of each session, with the confidentiality and privacy to allow you to make sense of your mental health.

I have several years experience of working with a diverse range of clients, working with clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression and trauma related struggles. I have honed my expertise in the field of eating disorders, trauma and perinatal mental health. I have worked across all sectors including NHS and charitable organisations, and use my experience and skills to create a tailored and unique intervention for each of my clients.

In addition to being a CBT Psychotherapist, I have over 10 years experience as a registered dietitian within the NHS. With both of these specialisms I have a particular interest and expertise in working with eating disorders, disordered eating, weight loss difficulties and ARFID.

I have expansive experience working in child and adolescent mental health (CAMHS) and am passionate about adapting the CBT approach to work with children, young people and clients with Autism (incl. Aspergers).

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
