About me

I am a qualified and experienced counsellor & psychotherapist offering person-centred counselling and Rewind Therapy.  I am also able to offer single session Therapy and ecotherapy (walk and talk).

I became a counsellor after extensive careers in the RAF and then education.   I realised I valued helping people achieve their goals more than just teaching them.   I was to combine my teaching experience and counselling studies in a role as a tutor and training manager for student counsellors.  This required me to develop an understanding of other ways of working (Gestalt, Inner Child, Transactional Analysis etc) that I am able to bring to support my clients  - whilst remaining person-centred and supportive of my client's own autonomy.

I have proven experience in supporting clients to resolve issues related to bereavement, grief & loss, life changing and life-limiting conditions, trauma (including PTSD & c-PTSD).

A counselling role within Employee Assistance Programs means I am also practised in supporting my clients in issue involving general anxiety and work-related stress and anxiety.

I have also worked successfully with survivors of domestic abuse to overcome their traumas using Rewind Therapy alongside a person centred way of working.  I have also studied suicide and self-harm awareness.

2019's 'Lockdown' saw me qualify in telephone and online counselling - I use a hassle-free secure medical platform for video appointments.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
