About me
Are you experiencing a difficult time right now? Is there something you would like to work through and understand more about yourself?
I’m here to help you through the difficult times, over the bumps in the road until things even out for you. I will work with you with compassion, empathy and genuineness to understand the way you see things right now.
Are you going through a difficult time right now?
Perhaps you struggle to cope daily and are unsure how to move forward. Maybe there are things that you would like to work on personally. Having a space to explore things can be highly beneficial and lead to a greater self awareness, confidence and resilience. Pressures and stresses of life can mount up to the point where we no longer feel in control, having a safe space to untangle and work through difficult emotions with the support can be empowering.
I will work with you to build a picture of the issues affecting you and impacting your life to understand the issue in more depth.
It may take a few sessions to get to know one another and establish a trusting relationship, vital for the success of the therapy.
I have experience working with the following issues
- Anxiety/Depression
- Childhood attachments, and Deep-Rooted Issues.
- Trauma
- Grief/Loss
- Work Related Issues
- Relationships
- Self Esteem and Confidence Issues/low mood and depression.
- Stress/Panic attacks
What is Therapy Like?..I hear you ask
Therapy can be a gradual but rewarding process where change can come about almost unnoticed. Starting therapy can often feel like the hardest part, starting a new journey and not knowing where it will take you. Im here with you to work through difficult emotions and untangle any areas that you may have found difficult to talk about with others people.
I have worked successfully with a range of ages. Here are two examples of a client therapeutic experiences given anonymously with permission:
Client Feedback
“Having found myself in a pretty low place emotionally - and with very little support available through the NHS - I took the decision to look for private counselling sessions with Ainsley, and I'm very glad I did. Over the space of 8 or 9 months - his honest, flexible and professional approach allowed me to find the inner strength that has been missing for quite some time.”
“I was able to talk through my issues, worries and challenges and - with his guidance - find ways and methods that worked for me to become a better and mentally stronger person.
For those looking for help - don't hesitate.
Thank you Ainsley for all of your support over this year.
Help is always there for those who ask for it.”
"At first I was very reluctant to give counselling a try as I had never been before. However after my first session I was completely at ease and able to speak freely in a secure and safe environment, each session helped build my confidence. After going through a very rough patch the sessions helped me navigate through my thoughts and feelings and for that I am very grateful and very pleased I took the leap to try counselling in the first place. From the sessions I’ve developed the ability to analyse and keep my thoughts in check, control my anxiety and practice mindfulness. All of these skills I have been able to take into my professional and personal life. The sessions were either in person or remote via video, the flexibility allowed me to attend sessions regardless of my proximity to the centre which was great. Lastly I want to say thank you for being a kind and engaging presence when running your sessions, I felt comfortable and able to communicate whatever was on my mind. I highly recommend the sessions as my experience was incredibly insightful and has given me the confidence and skills to push through some dark times”.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
