About me

Life can feel overwhelming at times, especially when you're trying to figure things out and nothing seems to make sense. You might be facing challenges with your mental health, relationships, or just trying to manage everything life throws at you. If that sounds familiar, you're not alone.

As a qualified counsellor registered with the BACP, I offer a safe, confidential space where you can talk openly, without judgement or pressure. This is your time, a space where you can be completely yourself, however you're feeling.

I work in a person-centred way, which means our sessions are guided by you and your needs. There’s no set agenda I’ll walk alongside you as we explore whatever’s going on in your life at a pace that feels right for you. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and grounded in building a trusting relationship where you feel genuinely heard and understood.

I specialise in relationship difficulties, whether you're struggling with romantic relationships, friendships, family dynamics, or the relationship you have with yourself. I understand how complicated and emotionally intense these experiences can be, especially when they impact your sense of self or leave you feeling isolated. You don’t have to navigate it all on your own.

Alongside relationship challenges, I have experience supporting people through anxiety, low mood, self-esteem struggles and periods of feeling stuck or uncertain. Sometimes it’s easier to talk to someone outside your day-to-day life, someone who will listen with compassion and help you make sense of things.

Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, but just being here is a sign that you're already moving forward. If you’d like to have an initial chat, I offer a free 10–15-minute phone consultation so we can explore what you’re looking for and see if we’re a good fit.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I also hold a Level 4 Diploma in therapeutic counselling from CPCAB.

I have extensive counselling experience across a variety of settings, including the NHS, hospice care, and online platforms. I have worked in grief counselling within a hospice, supporting individuals and families through bereavement and end-of-life challenges. My work with the NHS has involved supporting clients with a range of mental health issues as part of a multidisciplinary team.

I also have experience providing counselling to both adults and young people, offering flexible support tailored to individual needs. Additionally, I have a background in education and youth work, supporting young people in schools and community settings with their emotional wellbeing and personal development.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
