I also offer guidance and suggestions on coping strategies to learn to manage difficult issues so that you can feel safe and in control of your own life.

Training, qualifications & experience

Over the last 30 years I have supported vulnerable adults in social care. I have experience in various care settings as a support worker for elderly residents with dementia and Alzheimers. I have two years of experience of training as a mental health nurse. I then re-joined social services as a support worker for a wonderful 17 years supporting adults with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. I re-trained as a Counsellor while still working in social care. While training I gained experience working with charity based organisations which provide counselling to people recovering from addiction. Since qualifying, I have continued to work with a charitable organisation in addition to working at a local College counselling young Adults.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
