About me

About Me:

Hello and welcome to my page. I am a registered, integrative counsellor and certified play therapist who is deeply committed to supporting the well-being of adults and children who haven’t had the best early life experiences or childhoods and who long to finally feel whole and well again.

I have a special interest in trauma and my calling is to help those who have experienced trauma of any kind, to explore, heal and move forwards from their pasts towards a future that feels nurturing and wonderful.

How I work:

I work in an integrative way that is free flowing. I will encourage you to explore and make sense of your own ongoing life experiences. I will always support you to connect with your own inner wisdom and resources as I believe we all have the innate potential to heal ourselves. I have been trained in lots of different therapeutic approaches and I often use aspects of these during my sessions as I firmly believe that not one single approach suits everyone.

I always try to help my clients feel welcome and safe enough to share their difficulties with me. Choosing to have therapy may be the first step in a journey to self – healing and I always feel privileged to be a part of each of my clients’ journeys.

Why I became a counsellor and play therapist:

I found my way to therapy because of significant life events that left me feeling very traumatised. For some clients, this may also be the case, or it might be because they have experienced a slow build up of challenging emotions and they are feeling exhausted or debilitated.

It might be that Covid has left you feeling very scared and fearful about your future and for others. It may be that you are reaching a point in your life where you feel you have lost your sense of purpose or meaning. Maybe you feel confused or stuck in a rut and a lifestyle you no longer desire. Whatever you choose to bring along to counselling, you will always be welcomed and heard.

Type of sessions available:

I am experienced in providing face to face, telephone counselling and online video therapy.

Free initial consultation:

I offer an initial 20 minute consultation for free via telephone or video conference. This is a way for you to experience this type of therapy and to see whether it might be suitable for you.

What to expect in our first session together:

In our initial session, we will have the opportunity to discuss some of the areas you might like to explore. I will ask you what might have brought you to therapy at this time, what you are hoping to gain and whether you have attended counselling or therapy before. This will give us the opportunity to see if I am the most appropriate person to meet your therapeutic needs and to plan a way forward.

Training:

I have continued to train as rigorously as I can so I feel able to give others the kind of relief, joy and opportunities that I have experienced in my own healing journey to date. Whether we eventually have a face to face meeting, or we meet via telephone or video, I will offer you a personalised, holistic approach to help you reclaim your own power and to enable you to feel fulfilled and ‘enough’ in your own life.

Have a look at my website to get more of a sense of what I can offer you.                                                        www.soulful-healing.co.uk.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
