About me
I am an experienced and passionate Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of practice across specialist mental health and psychological services in the NHS and, more recently, in the private sector. I support clients facing a wide range of psychological and emotional challenges, including stress, overwhelm, low mood, anxiety, feeling stuck, low self-esteem, difficulties with emotion regulation, unresolved traumas, and relationship problems. I also specialize in addressing the emotional aspects of chronic physical health conditions and persistent physical symptoms, such as CFS/ME, FND, IBS, and chronic pain.
I am trained in a variety of evidence-based therapeutic models and approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic and systemic theories. I have an extensive specialist training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and other third-wave approaches, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT). Additionally, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and have in-depth expertise in mindfulness practices, supported by on-going training and personal experience. I stay up-to-date with the latest discoveries in neuroscience to continually enhance my practice.
In therapy, I integrate these models to create a tailored approach that aligns with each client’s unique needs and goals. I strive to foster a warm, safe, and non-judgmental therapeutic space so my clients can feel safe and empowered to explore their difficulties, gain new perspectives, and access their inner resources to drive meaningful, positive change. My approach is compassionate and holistic, integrating mind and body while focusing on building skills and resources to increase well-being and personal growth in my client's lives.
