Agnetha Kuruson BABCP (Accred), MBACP
Feeling stuck with doing the same things and then beating yourself up over it? Keep experiencing the same difficult feelings in similar situations? If this is stopping you from doing things that are important to you, then it might be time to give yourself a chance to re-write your own rules.
As a professional therapist, I offer my time and a safe space for us to think together of what is keeping you stuck and how you could manage similar situations in a more helpful way. I bring with me my experience, calm approach, creativity, curiosity and direct style of communicating.
I am accredited as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) which is the leading organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in the UK. I am also registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) as an Integrative Counsellor.
Some examples of the difficulties people have come to me with have included:
- Generalised anxiety and worry (GAD)
- Specific phobias
- Symptoms of post-traumatic stress
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Social anxiety
- Health anxiety
- Low mood and anxiety related to managing chronic pain, diabetes, IBS and other long-term health conditions
You might not have a name for your specific difficulties and that’s fine too. Some people may feel uncomfortable with labels and others cherish the relief having a name for their issues can bring. My primary focus in therapy is on what psychological barriers keep you stuck in re-experiencing the same problems over and over again and prevent you from doing the things you would like to.
