About me

Choosing a counsellor is an important step. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to support you in this process. I am an experienced counsellor with strong online counselling skills.

Whether you are going through a crisis in your life or experiencing a difficult emotional time, speaking to a counsellor can be life-changing. My name is Adela Victoria (I go by Victoria) I am an integrative counsellor and coach with experience using different counselling approaches. We can collaboratively draw on these together, finding what works best for you - your unique way to acknowledge and overcome difficulties. I am BACP accredited and follow their ethical guidelines.

I have been told by my clients that they initially feel relief, followed by a sense of being more resourceful, creative and happy in themselves.

Training, qualifications & experience

As well as working in Private Practice I have collaborated for over 5 years in the charity sector using creativity to support mental well-being and with an NHS foundation trust. I also have more than a decade experience of in helping people recover from addictive behaviours one-to-one, in treatment centres and in prison.

I have specialised training in trauma and management of anxiety, which my clients have reported have helped them through the pandemic.

As a practising artist with an MA in Fine Art, I have mentored many artists, individually and in groups since 1997. I am a trained yoga teacher. Both enable me to work creatively to facilitate clients in deepening their connections between their emotions, body and mind.

I also have 3 years of experience working internationally specialising in online counselling and I am a qualified Life/Wellness coach.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
