About me

Hello and welcome. My name is Adam, and I am an experienced counsellor working in North London. If you’re here, it’s probably because a part of you is ready to explore change and choosing counselling can be a powerful step towards self-awareness and personal growth.

I believe we all have the capacity to decide what’s best for us and sometimes a little help can go a long way. I offer sessions face-to-face and online and I am passionate about supporting you on your journey toward healing and self-discovery. With a warm and attentive approach, and a therapeutic relationship built on trust and understanding, I aim to offer a safe and non-judgemental space, where you can pause, reflect, and explore what really matters to you, at your own pace.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have extensive experience of working with adults in a range of settings, including drug and alcohol services, family support services, NHS IAPT and University counselling.

  • Registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

As an integrative counsellor, I place a strong emphasis on understanding you as a person first and building a collaborative relationship. From there, my aim is to offer you a flexible approach that is tailored specifically to you and your needs.

This may be to help you gain new perspectives on your experiences and interactions; to help you process certain emotions in constructive and compassionate way or alternatively to help you find new ways of coping that empower you to live in the way you want. Whatever your reason for seeking counselling, my aim is to ensure that together we are serving you in the best way possible for what you need and want for yourself.

Areas I work with often:

Relationship difficulties / dynamics

Anxiety-related issues

Depression

Identity / Loss of sense of self

Substance use related issues - whether you are the person using or a family member affected by someone else's use

Low self-esteem / Low confidence

Anger management

Work-related stress / Motivation

Family dynamics / tensions

Loneliness

Grief / Bereavement

Existential concerns

So, if you are curious and would like to have a free initial chat to see if I am the right counsellor for you and to explore how we might work together to help you - please contact me via my Website or Email, and we can discuss your wishes.

Please know, there is no obligation to book a first session during initial contact, so feel free to ask any questions that are on your mind and I will answer them for you. If you decide to proceed from there, we can book a first session and have a more detailed conversation. From which, again there is no obligation to book a second session and you can make an informed choice about how you would like to continue.

I look forward to hearing from you!
