About me

Hey, I am Adam & thank you for taking the time to view my profile.

During lockdown I am continuing to offer face to face, online and telephone appointments categorised as a health and social care appointment.

Firstly, I totally get that there are lots of counsellors to choose from on here and the process of finding the right therapist can feel like a bit of a minefield -reaching out with your issues may be a sensitive matter - I know this because I have been where you are now doing the same myself.

What to expect

There is lots of information on this page about how I could support you, so that you can decide if I may be suitable to your needs. If you are completely lost as to who to approach, then write a short list of some of the things that you want from therapy and the therapist themselves. Then filter through the therapists on the site to meet those requirements.  If there is something you are looking for specifically that I havent mentioned, then please get in contact to ask, or alternatively visit my website: www.dynamictherapy.club

How the sessions work

You have one or more things you want  support in addressing & processing in your life. You find a therapist you think is a good match to your requirements, have a consultation & if satisfied to proceed - you book an appointment.

Through attending sessions with me, I will give you a safe & private space for you to understand and learn more about your current situation, whilst supporting you to look back on the things that contributed to how you are feeling now.

Each session will be focused on you to give you an opportunity to speak without fear of judgment or other agenda to find the answers you need to the matters that you are facing. You will draw on your experience and life skills to find and develop your own resources to manage your current situation and future.

About me & my role

I am a qualified, trained, enhanced DBS cleared registered counsellor. I am classed as an integrative counsellor which means that I use many different approaches that are adapted to meet your needs in the session. Find out more about these approaches in "Further information" below.

It is my role to support you in making sense & meaning of what you are experiencing now and finding the right path to where you want to be. My approach to counselling is to make sessions as relaxed and conversational as possible to give you a safe, calm and confidential space to explore whatever brings you to therapy. We will identify a way that works for you and the sessions are your own to explore whatever you choose.

I am extremely proud and grateful to have been through therapy myself, having realised the distinct benefits of having somewhere to go, away from my every day life to talk to someone who I could trust to help me safely explore my situation and feelings.

I trade through my company name of Dynamic Therapy Club (www.dynamictherapy.club) . Through my support I offer a unique, relatable and effective approach to your issues. Behind the professional, you will be dealing with a genuine human being who cares about you & your situation. I will show you positive regard through whatever you are facing.

I monitor this profile weekly and will update if I have availability or not:

I have availability to see new clients, so please get in contact to arrange a consultation and appointment.

Free consultation

I offer a free phone /online based consultation before you arrange your first session so that we both have a better understanding of each other. In this, you can tell me what you are looking for support with & ask any questions that will help you decide. There is no obligation or expectation to book a first session in the consultation.

If you are comfortable to proceed with me we can make an appointment. I am based in Rochford and see clients from all over including Southend, Leigh, Benfleet, Rayleigh, Wickford, Billericay & Basildon offering face to face, over the phone & online sessions.

Whatever you are looking for support with, get in contact to arrange a free no pressure consultation. My priority is that you get the right support for your needs!

Next steps

Make an enquiry - through this website or you can:

Call, text, or WhatsApp me 07376 910 176

Email me through my private practice: info@dynamictherapy.club.

You can visit my website to find out more: www.dynamictherapy.club

If you call and I do not answer, I will get back to you as soon as I am available.

One step at a time...

You are already moving forwards - struggling or asking for help does not equal failing. We look for support with so many parts of our lives - we read reviews or speak to sales people when buying goods, we take our car to the mechanic when it needs fixing, we call out service people when something in the home goes wrong.

Looking for a therapist when you are facing challenges makes sense - I will not fix this for you. You will be heard & I will guide you to find your own sense, meaning and resources to handle this yourself.

You've got this, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Further information

Pandemic stress - Shielding, isolation & lockdown anxiety

The last year has bought up so much for so many people, placing strains and challenges upon us that we never anticipated having to face.

I am a therapist who specialises in support linked to shielding and lockdown related matters. This can include the impact that lockdowns have had on you, loved ones or your work, The challenges and stigma faced within the CEV group or experiencing a whole array of other stresses such as lonliness, loss, anxiety & work stress

I work alongside a shielding organisation offering support specific to shielders and as such have an enhanced awareness and skill set to support you if you are looking for support relating to matters triggered by the pandemic.

Emergency services support

The day to day work within the emergency services is different to any other job - I know because I did it for almost a decade. The stresses, strains and demands placed upon you hold unique challenges to your resilience that can easily start off as "Just part of the job", and over time impact more and more to the point of overwhelm. As a counsellor with lived experience in this environment, I am able to offer support with greater insight and appreciation of what you are facing more than most. When the impacts of your duty cannot be put in the locker before you come home, its time to speak.

Approaches

Some of the psychological approaches I am trained in include:

CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - Identifying & addressing past and existing thought processes, beliefs and behaviours that may be unhelpful or harmful, then altering these to more positive, supportive constructs.
Person Centered - Humanist counselling - Providing the right optimal conditions to explore your own personal growth, understanding & change in what you are dealing with.
Pyschodynamic - A focus on how past experiences and thoughts in our unconscious influence the present.
Transactional Analysis - Inclusive of the above three methods, we explore the structure of our personality into three ego states of the parent, adult & child. You identify your inner state changes and how you interact with others.
Gestalt Therapy - Looking at you and your patterns of behaviour, you focus on the present & how others & situations interact with you.
Neuro Lingustic Programming - A solution focused approach where you explore the way that your brain in programmed from earlier patterns of behaviour and thought. With this, we identify the resources that you already have available to create new patterns that help you reach your desired states.

As well as counselling I write articles and host videos for self help, motivation, confidence and connection. You can access these through my website: www.dynamictherapy.club
