About me

As a professional counsellor and therapist, I work with individuals to assist in facilitating change and improving relationships with self, and others, to help them in their personal and/or professional lives and to help them develop, maintain and enhance strategies to  domestic and professional stressors.

My primary approach to counselling and therapy is Person-Centred, meaning that I offer my clients a safe, confidential, contracted process in which to give them the time and space they need to explore their thoughts and feelings in an atmosphere of respect, safety and acceptance. This process allows clients to develop their own inner resources to live their lives in a more satisfying and meaningful way.

In addition I integrate several other well validated psychological theories into my practice to assist individuals with specific goals from therapy, or those with more complex requirements, to achieve their aims. This could be developing strategies to help enhance emotional resilience to general or specific worries or concerns (anxiety) or to help clients move from emotional distress or free them from repetitive thought patterns.

My counselling therapy can help with a number of issues including:

  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Depression
  • Bereavement and Grief
  • Relationship Issues (Breakdown, Separation, Divorce)
  • Addiction (Gambling, Alcohol, Drugs, Sex Etc.)
  • Phobias
  • Eating Disorders
  • Abuse
  • Anger Management
  • Lack of Confidence/Self Belief or Esteem

And many more issues which affect a person to fully reach their potential.

                                                        How to Get Started

Call or email me to set up your FREE Initial Assessment Session, an opportunity for you to meet with me, with no fixed ties or commitments from you to continue working with me, but as a chance for you to see if we can work together if you are happy to do so. You will also receive a Free Initial Psychological Assessment Report after your initial session, containing results from a number of well validated psychological assessment tools, and individual advice and guidance tailored to help you with your specific issues.

I would be more than happy to organise a convenient time for us to meet at either my Crewe or Nantwich (Cheshire) practice's to suite you.

If you are unable to travel to either practice, for whatever reason, I also offer equally affective telephone counselling and assessments for anyone who wishes to use this service at No Additional Cost.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified counsellor and a registered member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy(BACP) and follow their ethical framework for good practice.

I have a wide range of experience such as working with individuals from varying professional backgrounds including Cheshire East and West Occupational Health Unit providing them with a counselling service to assist their staff back into work. I have also worked with young people and adolescents in high schools and private practice and have an unmarked D.B.S (criminal records bureau check). I have also worked with professional sports people.

I also have experience working with the homeless in Cheshire East and helped start an homeless initiative in Crewe and Nantwich whilst volunteering for the Saint Vincent de Paul Society.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Further information

I have both the tools and experience to help and support an individual to reach a point where they feel they can manage their lives and feel both supported and able to access support in the future.

I am a great believer in general health and well being playing a vital part in the promotion of mental health and I try to live through these values through regular exercise and eating healthy foods. My caring, empathic and natural personality is evident in my work and I find it easy to relate to individuals from many backgrounds and all ages.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.
