Hello, I'm Abi and thank you for viewing my profile. I am a qualified children's and young person's counsellor. I am also BACP registered. I work with children, young people and adults.
Is life feeling too much to handle? Do you know something is not quite right but can't put your finger on it? Are you feeling lonely, even when surrounded by friends and family? Are you tired of being misunderstood and not being listened to? Or maybe you’re a concerned and worried parent seeking support for your child? If you've answered yes to any of these questions, I may be able to help.
Life can feel truly overwhelming at times and it's not always easy to ask for help and admit that you're not ok.
There are many reasons why we need support and I just want to reassure you that your reason is valid - no matter how small you may think it is.
I can appreciate reaching out and asking for that help can feel daunting and a little scary but hey - you've made the first step by looking for a counsellor and that takes courage.
A little bit about how I work...
I work in a person centred way, which basically means that I hold the belief that each and every one of us has the capability of living the life we want to live. Being our true authentic selves without the need of pleasing others.
I am passionate about supporting each and every one of my clients on their unique journeys, watching them grow in confidence and reaching a place where they feel empowered again.
The relationship we build in our therapeutic work together is important in assisting change. You need to feel comfortable and at ease in the relationship in order to facilitate this change. It is therefore important that you are met with acceptance, empathy and transparency which I strive to offer all my clients.
I feel that accessing therapy should be easy for everyone which is why I offer online counselling. This is done through video conferencing platforms like Zoom. This allows for people who have disabilities, live in remote areas, have no transport, have busy schedules or no childcare to be able to get the support they need.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

When I work
I offer a free telephone consultation lasting approximately 15 minutes. This is basically an informal chat giving you the opportunity to tell me a little bit about yourself and what you would like from the sessions.
I'll give you an outline on how I work and you'll have the opportunity to ask me any questions/ concerns that you have about starting counselling.
If you feel that we could work together and would like to proceed, we can book you in for your first appointment.
