Abby Ord MBACP (Accred) Counselling for depression, anxiety, bereavement & more
Thinking about having counselling?
If you’re here trying to find a counsellor, then you have made a courageous first step. You might not be sure what counselling is all about or whether it is right for you, but your willingness to look for help is a positive sign that you are ready to heal.
Good counselling can do so much more than just give you a place to talk, it can heal old wounds, help you to cope with the present and get you in touch with who you truly are.
I am here to offer you a place of warmth, honesty and acceptance so that you can feel comfortable enough to talk about whatever you like. There is no rush to get through everything, there is no agenda, and you can go at your own pace in your own way. I aim to facilitate you in whatever way feels right for you as an individual.
I will work with you on any issues you want to bring to counselling. It doesn’t matter what they are, I am here to look beyond the diagnosis or the label and to connect with you as a person. I have many years’ experience of working in this way with a truly diverse range of people. Everyone is treated with the utmost respect and compassion.
My Counselling Approach:
- I work with adults over 18, face to face weekly therapy
- I offer open-ended counselling, long or short term according to your wishes
- Absolute trustworthiness and confidentiality
- A professional and ethical standard of practice in compliance with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) ethical framework
- Person-centred and psychodynamic integrative therapy (ask me more about this if you wish)
- Counselling in Cheltenham town centre, based at The Practice Rooms
